Jeremy Tugeau grew up in Ridgefield, CT and received a BFA from Syracuse University
in 1995. He lived and worked in Nantucket, MA and Albuquerque, NM before settling
in Cleveland Heights, OH in 2004. Jeremy works in the centuries old tradition of
painting 'en plein air' -
Jeremy can often be found painting on the street corners in Little Italy, near the water of Downtown Cleveland, on Horseshoe Lake or in any one of Cleveland's vibrant neighborhoods.
"Painting on the street presents many challenges. I really enjoy the people and smells and the noise. I try to get that in the paint," says Jeremy.
In addition to being a fine artist, Jeremy illustrates children's books and has illustrated such titles as "You Are So Wonderful" (Augsburg Press, 2003), "Always an Olivia" (Lerner Publishing Group, 2007), and The Ghostville Elementary chapter book series for Scholastic, Inc.
Jeremy lives in the Cedar Fairmount District of Cleveland Heights, OH with his wife, Nicole, and their two young children, Ruby and George.
